Gilda's Club Worldwide Hosts Benefit Aboard Prestigious SeaFair Grand Luxe
October 9, 2007 New York, NY. Gilda's Club Worldwide and SeaFair partnered to host 350 attendees aboard the 228-foot Grand Luxe yacht, raising over $150,000.
The event took place on the Grand Luxe at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers. Attendees mingled with shipboard dealers who are among the world's best in the fields of old master paintings, 17th - 19th century decorative arts, 20th and 21st century modern and contemporary art, Asian art, tribal and oceanic art, textile, and antique and contemporary jewelry.
Gilda's Club Worldwide Chair Laura L. Wheat commented, "What a fantastic, stylish setting to emphasize and support the mission of Gilda's Club Worldwide. We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with SeaFair as they begin their inaugural journey."
The event raised funds to support the mission of Gilda's Club Worldwide to provide meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer, along with their families and friends, can join together to build a personal network of social and emotional support as an integral part of cancer treatment. Since all Gilda's Clubs are free of charge, the money raised offers the financial support to continue to provide networking groups, seminars, workshops, social events and more.
